Version 1.4
MMO Simulator 1.4 is out at 8am UTC today! (4 hours from the posting of this changelog)
Much bigger than last time, this update brings a whole slew of neat things to the game!
Major Feature Updates:
- Ascension Gifts - Now when you Ascend, you will be given the opportunity to accept a gift to help you in your future adventures. These gifts are split into 4 categories: Starting Gear will allow you to start your next loop at a higher gear tier, Charms will provide you some free charms at the start of the next loop, Town will automatically boost your Town levels at the start of the next loop, Pets refer to a number of new pets that have been introduced, more on them later. The Ascension Gifts are not all of equal rarity. They are instead split into 4 rarity groups or varying weight. Additionally, the more Ascensions you have, the more gifts you can choose from! Finally, if you don't like any of your offered gifts, you can re-roll all of your options, but you'll get one fewer than last time! This process can be repeated until you only have one option remaining, which you must then take. The chances for the Ascension Gifts can be found at the bottom of this post.
- Two new pets join the roster! They are both available from Ascension Gifts and are required for game completion.
- The Warbler is a wacky guy, perhaps from the void? Wherever he's from, he helps you with your Crucible demands. Whenever you make an offering to the Crucible, the Warbler has a chance to make that offering count as three offerings, instead. This should provide a choice between Warbler and other more common pet choices during Crucible progression (such as imp)
- Chronos has the unique effect of speeding up time for 10 seconds. Specifically, this speeds up your auto-grinder, and boss spawn time by 2x. Once the 10 seconds have elapsed, Chronos cannot activate for 5 additional seconds. Balance-wise, Chronos performs 2 main jobs: speeding up your grinding, and speeding up boss spawn times. The aim is for Chronos to not out-perform pets that are specifically meant for these jobs. That is to say, Grinding with Chronos should be slower than using Scorpion or Phoenix, and spawning bosses with Chronos should be slower than using Ice Ravager. However, Chronos performs both jobs at the same time, which I feel will help him carve out a niche.
- In the future, four more pets will be obtainable from Ascension Gifts: The Stranger, The Terrorpede, The Minotaur, and The Giga-Snail. However, they all interact with features that aren't implemented yet, so they have been disabled and cannot yet be earned.
- Permanent access to Wheels can now be purchased with Wheel Tokens! Access to the Normal Wheel costs 200 Wheel Tokens, while holiday wheels cost 500 Wheel Tokens until their event has occurred, at which time they will also cost 200 Wheel Tokens. This means that currently, the normal wheel and birthday wheel cost 200 tokens, while all others cost 500 each. An important note about this change is that all holiday pets and titles are now required to complete the game.
- Getting a Jackpot in Bones can now create a Windfall. Windfalls last between 5 and 20 minutes, and multiply your gold earned from selling gear by 4x. Your chance of a windfall is shown before you start your game of Bones, and increases with higher bets. Timberwolf also has his gold multiplied during a windfall. Leprechaun has been changed and now has a chance once per minute to extend the duration of a windfall by 1 minute.
Minor Feature Update:
- Re-worked the Town Menu. This includes the ability to name your town, and a small window into what your town looks like as it grows! I plan to make this look nicer in the future, but it's a start.
Tweaks:
- The Gathering and Dungeon menus have been collapsed into the Map menu, and the main menu has seen some shuffling around. Sorry about your muscle memory!
- The Auto-Grinder has seen a very minor tweak in it's speed. This should be virtually unnoticeable and is related to a re-factor in how the Auto-Grinder works (to accommodate Chronos's ability).
- Steeds will now consume Steed Feed equal to their level, and the buy amounts have been divided by 10. The overall price and time required to level steeds is unaffected by this (purely cosmetic) change.
- Imp has been nerfed, and can only activate once every 2 seconds. This should hopefully make Imp less of a "Must-use" in all dungeon-related content, and allow some other pets a chance to shine.
- Tools can now be gained in any area that gives the corresponding tier of loot. This means that most tools are obtained more easily, and as such, any tools that can now be obtained from more than one area have been made rarer. (If I've done this right, tools should still take slightly less time to obtain than before)
- In response to new content being added (Chronos and Warbler) "The Deific" title has been removed from the few players that have obtained it. The title can be re-earned by completing the new content. This will be consistent with all future content drops
- Steeds now reset to level 0 when ascending. In response, Steeds now require half as much experience in order to level (The change in required XP will take effect on ascension)
- Goblin now doubles the resources earned from The Wheel
- Removed the ">>" button from the leaderboard window while I solve an issue with it
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a bug that caused the Glimmering Quest to not appropriately grant its rewards, and retroactively gave those rewards to anyone affected.
- Fixed a bug that caused the Omen Mount to disappear
- Fixed a bug that caused Beastial Shards to not be obtainable
- The Cryptkeeper title button no longer refers to Shrouded gear as "Flaming gear"
- The "Saving Game" banner no longer blocks clicks
Known Bugs:
- Scrolling profile and loot log on android are a bit painful
- Auto-clickers have temporarily been limited to 60 clicks per second while I investigate an issue
Minor Patchnotes (Last updated 2/09 9pm AEST):
- Account details can now be changed from the Profile menu. This allows players to change their usernames and passwords. At this stage, I'm not putting a limit on this, so feel free to use it as much as you like :)
- Continued UI improvement. The Charm menu has been overhauled. Town is midway through an overhaul in preparation for future content.
- Added a "Convert All" button to the charm menu. Note that when converting massive quantities of charms (several hundreds of thousands) the game hangs for a moment. This will be improved in 1.5
- Cleaned up the sprites of the citizen in town, and made their colours slightly more vibrant
- The random event screen now covers the Grind button
- Auto-generated usernames will no longer generate to have more characters than the login box allows
- Fixed a bug that caused random events to give too many rewards
- Fixed a bug that causes the wheel to not grant pets or titles
- The Town Timer will no longer run unless you have named your town.
- Fixed a bug that caused Digger Charms to not be convertable

Charms (200 of each regular charm) | 1.17% |

Remember that these rates are per gift option. Meaning that these rates will be significantly lower than the actual chance of seeing the particular reward. This is before factoring in the re-roll option, which will make these odds significantly better again. Additionally, please note that your ascension is complete as soon as you confirm your ascension. Reloading the game to get new gift options will advance you to the next ascension without giving you a gift.
